My mixed media assemblage work has evolved from a background equally routed in jewelry and metalsmithing, costume design, and a love for Gothic architecture, flea markets, and rock'n roll. Using a wide range of materials, including animal bones, cat claws, shark's teeth, doll parts, leather, fabric, wood, metal, vintage jewelry and various found objects, I strive to create a world that illustrates the beauty of the dark side. Giving new life to that which has been discarded, the transformed materials create altar-like forms that speak of innocence, loss, life, death, decay, and the dusty, shimmery shadows that are sometimes left behind.
