I breathe in creativity, even from the earliest age I saw design and colors come to life. Although I come from a humble background, my parents encouraged me in many ways and soon I was learning to paint. My earliest studies included learning with an international group of women taught by Mary Rudge. She was a great inspiration to me and I am very grateful to her for encouraging me to explore my many facets of art interests.

I am constantly looking for inspiration and find it sometimes in the oddest places from an old piece of rusted pipe to the sunflowers that grow in my garden.

It’s noted that Michelangelo once said, when asked what he was going to make as he chipped away at a piece of marble, “I am trying to free the angel that’s trapped inside.” That’s what painting is for me. It is mostly inspiration, but also a struggle to make the image come to life on canvas; to find the perfect balance between what I see and what my hands allow me to paint.

My years of study include Watercolor with the late Jade Fon; Fashion Design, Silkscreen, and Painting at Peralta College; and currently I am studying with Dorcas Moulton of Merritt College and Watercolor from Terry Madden’s Watercolor Workshop.

Through my interpretation of nature I hope to inspire both critics and admirers to appreciate more of all that is good on this earth. Watercolor is my specialty; I excel at pastel and am enjoying the look and feel of mixed mediums.

Awards include: Best of Show, First Place, Second Place and Honorable Mention.
